Human Experience – A larp about the experience of moving and sensing
Human experience is a physical, poetic larp. The players play ancient consciousnesses who shortly get to experience life through a human body and explore how humans move and sense. They do this with the help of human visitors.
There are two ways to participate in Human Experience. Either as a player embodying one of the ancient consciousnesses or as a human visitor who is there to help them. No former experience with larp is required to participate in any role.
The Players/Ancient Consciousnesses:
The Ancient Consciousnesses are gentle, slow and curious. They experience the world through poetic images and abstract sensations. In their short time as embodied creatures, they want to carefully experience the nuances in the way humans move and sense.
The players will be guided through two hours of mindful preparation. They will gently learn to become a character for whom the experience of moving and sensing are new and exciting. They will become familiar with the frame or the larp and get to know their ancient consciousnesses characters.
The Human Visitors:
The human visitors come as themselves without taking on characters and with just a small amount of preparation. They are there to experiment with movements and senses and to follow and aid the Ancient Consciousnesses in their exploration.
The visitors can help the Ancient Consciousnesses by showing them movements or describing sensations, thereby teaching the Ancient Consciousnesses how humans move and feel. The interactions will be slow and careful and visitors can take as little or as much part as they like.
ABSTRACT, PHYSICAL LARP
This is a subgenre of LARP (live action roleplay), which uses abstract fiction, embodied characters and presence based preparation to explore different physical or social aspects of what we as human beings can be and experience.
