Speaking Into Silence
Speaking Into Silence is a mediation/conversation-ritual in which participants are invited to share freely what is on their mind. The strong setting in darkness, with only few candles lighting up the room, removes most implicit rules about how we talk with each other, allowing participants to share without the normal social pressure of casual conversations. Speaking and being in silence together are two equally important parts of the experience, where one amplifies the other: the silence let’s everything that is said to stand out more, while every contribution fills the silence with a part of oneself.
At 19.30 we introduce the way Speaking Into Silence works, and at 20.00 we start the ritual. We will start on time.
We follow government regulations and recommendations around COVID-19 and do our best not to further the spread of the virus. We ask you to do the same:
- Please do not show up to events if you have symptoms of covid-19.
- You are required to have a valid corona-passport to participate in our events (for most people this means being vaccinated or being tested within 72 hours of the workshop you are going to). Our facilitators will check this on arrival.
- There is a test center in Fælledparken, close to Relational Spaces, where it is possible to be quick tested.
Speaking Into Silence is part of the Cultural Protocols series and therefore bound to its Open Culture policy. That means that we cannot ask for mandatory payment from our participants. There are, however, some expenses that we need to cover, and we cannot offer the event if those costs are not met. The expenses are for rent of the space, and membership that grants us access to Relational Spaces. Therefore we offer three different ticket options:
100 DKK | regular ticket: this ticket is your equal contribution to the event and its running costs
150 DKK | supporter ticket: on top of your contribution to the event, you help fund a free ticket for someone who doesn’t have the money
0 DKK | free ticket: for every two supporter tickets sold, or in case the event has covered all running costs with regular ticket sales, we offer free tickets
If you are in need of a free ticket, please write a message to email@example.com
